Don't read it, Play it!
The Sound Community teaches in a way where enthusiasm is key.
Learn music by doing and experiencing
For us at the Sound Community, it's important that our students are enthusiastic about making music and that they have fun playing the instrument. That's why our method focuses on playing along with music, discovering your instrument and playing together in the form of bands.
Students play along to pop songs that are appropriate for their level at that time. Once they get the hang of the song, it will be filmed and posted to a private Facebook group of other parents and students from the Sound Community. If you do not have Facebook, it is of course possible to receive the videos via email. You learn from each other and this is a nice snapshot of the student's progress.
“The Sound Community has brought me so much joy and now I can play the drums with full confidence!”

Band lessons
In addition to our method for private lessons, we have added band lessons as an important part of our curriculum.
Band lessons are suitable for all our students who want it.
Students with two years of private lessons can participate in our band lesson program. They are divided by age and level into bands with guitar, keyboard, vocals, bass guitar, etc.
The band lessons start in February and take place monthly, replacing the regular private lessons. In the private lessons, the teacher prepares the student to play in a band.
During the band lessons, we work on pop/rock songs that students eventually perform at the summer pre-shows. The repertoire is chosen by the teachers, but students can also make their own suggestions.
This way, you not only learn your instrument, but also play together with fellow students. This part is essential for the fun and development of our students. The Sound Community has already formed around 20 bands.
Student concerts
At the end of a wonderful musical year, we are organizing a student concert. We think it's important that students experience what it's like to perform in front of an audience. The stage feeling is the best thing there is. We are happy to share this with the students. An evening full of student performances, tasty snacks, and guaranteed fun!

Questions
What you want to know about our way of teaching.
We believe that feeling music is more important than just learning theory. Our teachers are professional pop musicians who perform on stage every day. Not only do they teach you, they show you how it really works.
That depends on you. Some of them play their first songs after just a few weeks. Others need more time. We go at your pace and make sure you're not left behind.
No, not at all. We'll start from scratch. All you need is the desire to make music. You'll learn the rest from us.
That is why we offer a trial lesson. You come by once, play a bit, feel how it feels. Then you know if it suits you.
You play with other students in a real band. You practice together, learn from each other and eventually play gigs. It's not just learning, it's really making music.
